Terms of Service

1. Who provides the service
AEO Explorer (www.aeo-explorer.de) is provided by Aleksandar Perisic, Waldspielplatz 3, 82319 Starnberg, Germany — a natural person, not a company. Contact: hello@aeo-explorer.de. See the Impressum and the Privacy Policy.
2. Beta status and scope
AEO Explorer is a free public beta. These terms cover only the free beta. A paid one-time self-hosted license is planned but is not covered here — it will get its own terms at launch, and nothing here creates a right to purchase or a purchase contract. Features, limits, and the beta itself can change or end (Section 7). The intended free tier is 50 scans per month; this limit is not technically enforced during the beta but may be enforced later.
3. Your account
You need an account to use the service. Keep your access to it secure and give us accurate contact details. Every account also gets read-only access to a shared showcase workspace for demonstration — you cannot run scans there and must not attempt to.
4. Your content
Workspaces, tracked prompts, competitor lists, notes, and chat threads you create are yours. You can export your data in-app at any time. Deletion (30-day grace period, plus an immediate option) works as described in the Privacy Policy.
5. BYOK and AI costs
You connect your own API keys (OpenRouter, OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Perplexity, xAI). All usage runs under your own agreements with those providers, and any costs they charge are yours. We never resell tokens or bill you for AI usage.
6. Acceptable use
Do not: submit unlawful content in prompts; attempt to access other users' workspaces; abuse or circumvent rate limits or spend gates; scrape or resell the service; or submit other people's personal data without a legal basis.
7. Availability and changes
This is a beta, provided “as is” within the limits of German law. There is no availability commitment; rate limits and daily AI budgets may block actions, and kill switches may pause AI features. Export your data regularly to guard against data loss. If the beta ends or the service is discontinued, we will give reasonable notice.
8. Liability
AEO Explorer is free of charge (unentgeltlich). We are liable without limitation for damage caused by intent (Vorsatz) or gross negligence (grobe Fahrlässigkeit), for injury to life, body, or health — including simple negligence — and under the Product Liability Act (Produkthaftungsgesetz). If we negligently breach an essential obligation of these terms (Kardinalpflicht), our liability is limited to the foreseeable damage typical for a service like this. Otherwise, liability for simple negligence is excluded.
9. Termination
You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or abuse the beta, and may end the beta with reasonable notice.
10. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms with reasonable advance notice in the product; material changes will be announced separately. The notice will state when the change takes effect and will point out that continuing to use the service after that date counts as acceptance. If you disagree, you can delete your account at any time before then.
11. Governing law
German law applies. If you use the service as a consumer, the mandatory consumer protections of the country of your habitual residence remain unaffected.
